Current students/parents: What should I visit?

I'm coming to Tulane March 31, Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, April 2 (I'll be at the "Destination Tulane" event on Satuirday from 8 AM to 2 PM). What should I visit? Is there anything particularly special at Tulane that might influence my final decision? Anything that I should see that might a cause of worry(like if part of the campus is irreparably damaged)?

Also, what do you like most/least about Tulane?

Just listen to the current students/faculty/staff who will talk with you EVERYWHERE you go. When we visited at Honors Weekend last year, I was amazed at how friendly everyone was and how much they all seemed to love their school. We'll be there, too, for Family Weekend. Maybe we'll pass on the sidewalk! Have great time!

im coming saturday too! :D

We were at Destination:Tulane yesterday. They did a fine job. I have to admit we were quite impressed when the President Cowen showed up to do the welcome speech. He did an outstanding job talking about what was going on. The Dean of the new combined Newcomb-Tulane College came to give the academic speech. Everyone was very nice, helpful and open. The kids see no real impact from the storm...and lots of opportunities. Many of the attendees went to a class in the afternoon (we did not) and came away impressed. There were about 30 families there yesterday.

We visited Tulane two weeks before the hurricane and you have to look hard to find any impact at Tulane. The pool is still closed due to roof damage. The new student center is behind schedule, but will open sometime between October and January. Some grass is dead. Some roofs are being repaired. But construction activitiy on the campus was about the same as any other campus we have been to.

We did take a tour of the devasted areas of New Orleans. It is shocking how widespread the damage is. But the signs of life in the city are clear and stong. It is bouncing back (just slowly). You can feel that there are fewer people there...and the help wanted signs are everywhere. We came away with no concerns about our DD going there if she chooses it from her final choices.
