Current students: Thematic Option questions

I've been invited to apply for T.O., and I also attended Explore USC for the Trustee scholarship, so I was just wondering how much time I should put into the app. In other words, if I was invited to Explore USC, should I put effort into getting into T.O.? Is it that selective?

Also, should I even apply for T.O. at all? When I was on campus for Explore USC, I talked to many students, and they all told me not to be scared away from the "honors" part of it. They said T.O. gave them many opportunities and was definitely a good experience, but it didn't have the rigor that they say it does. I should mention that I became interested in T.O. at first because I do enjoy taking more challenging classes, and the T.O. curriculum emphasizes writing and the liberal arts, both of which I'd like to study more in depth. What do current students on this message board think about T.O.? Would you recommend applying for it and participating in it?

About the application, make sure that your grammar and spelling are accurate, but don't spend ages on it. The questions are probably nice and short, so give good, concise answers. It isn't that hard.

About the other questions, I'm sure that someone will link to a previous thread with these issues addressed soon.

I live in Marks Hall where about everyone (except me) is taking T.O. Each seems to hate it beyond belief. Then again, your only other option is General Education, which equally sucks, so it's over to you.
