How loud are the dorms for freshmen? How large are the classes?

I lived in a learning community last year (UIR) and I heard it wasn't as bad as the typical freshman floors (Markley has a reputation for being one of the rowdier dorms).

As for how large the classes are, it really depends on the class. I had Chem 130 lecture (400 students), Chem 130 discussion (~25 students), Math 115 lecture (~25 students), Engin 101 lecture (200 students), Engin 101 lab (~25 students), Physics 140 lecture (200 students), Physics 140 discussion (~25 students), Engin 100 lecture (100 students), Engin 100 disccussion (~25 students), and Chem 125 and Physics 141 lab both had about 20 students (due to limited room in lab rooms). So basically you have very large classes your first year. If you take classes that aren't required by everyone, such as a humanities class I took, Phil 201, then that has 20 or less people. It gets a lot smaller as your courses get higher-level.
