Current Systems/Industrial Engineers Job Examples

Hi everyone,

So Im strongly considering majoring in systems engineering, but id really appreciate if perhaps actual systems/industrial engineering could provide some info on what type of jobs are out there and what you do in them.
Here, i even organized your responses for you :) [feel free to answer whichever ones you want]

1) What was your job after graduating?
2) What is your job now?
3) What are your duties/responsibilities? (for both questions 1 and 2 if you want)
4) What is your pay? (not really that important to me, but would be nice to know)
5) Job satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 10?

Im interested in systems engineering because i have a strong interest in both engineering and economics, and it seems to me that systems-e would allow me to tie both of them together in my studies.

Any current students responses would also be appreciated?
Thanks!

1) What was your job after graduating?
Systems Engineer. Graduated with EE/CMPE degree from Georgia Tech but didn’t want to purse that kind of work as a career.

2) What is your job now?
Systems Engineer (Same job since graduating)

3) What are your duties/responsibilities? (for both questions 1 and 2 if you want)
I work on the AEGIS combat system for the U.S. Navy and derivative naval combat systems sold by the U.S. to allies (this work allows me to travel the world). Work on all aspects of each system: System design, implementation, upgrades, in-house testing, ship board testing, data analysis for each test event.

4) What is your pay? (not really that important to me, but would be nice to know)
 :)

5) Job satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 10?
9, i used to love playing command and conquer so the real thing keeps me interested.
