Current undergrad question

I currently attend an undergrad that I'm completely unhappy with. The idea of transferring crosses my mind on a daily basis, but I've just been passively attending with the hope that things get better. I'm actually now thinking of taking a gap year or two to clear my head and gain some real world experience. I've become so apathetic that I quit all the clubs and extracurriculars I was in, had no passion for any of them.

So, sorry if I'm rambling. Here are my stats

3.5x GPA currently, will definitely be 3.6x after this semester.
26 ACT, took it cold. Maybe if I studied and took it again I could score within CU's range?
Biracial URM

Would applying to GS after a year or two doing something (not sure what yet) be a good idea? I'm also a bit confused about the application process as far as recent vs. old grades go. When people post saying they were in college a while ago and had low GPAs but recently started pulling 3.8+s, does this mean that GS will be the third college they attend? Will I have to enroll in another school and pull a higher GPA before applying to GS?

Almost 300 views and not one response? Is this in the wrong forum?

Plan for it man

Plan for it? Can you elaborate?

ACT scores won’t matter too much. The GPA of your last school is pretty important because at the very least you need to prove that you can survive a degree here. I had a GPA of 3.86 at the previous school before being accepted. You might be able to get in with a lower GPA but then you need a really impressive life story. Current students without a lot of academic achievements had done some really cool stuff like starting their own businesses, worked on political campaigns or special forces.

The essay is also one of the most important part of admission so you need to spend a lot of time on it. If you decide to take a year off, unless you’ve done some really cool stuff, do expect to go to a different school and get your GPA to a 3.8+ before getting in.
