Current UT Student, ask me whatever! :)

@FullMetalx-I do! Someone I know got in with a 2000. He went to one of the top 200 high school in the nation, though, if that means anything…I’m business/pre-pharm! I know one person who is business/pre-med. It’s just more hours of class, and eventually you’ll have to study for the MCAT while juggling business classes at the same time.

@sunshine341-Do it RIGHT when you get accepted, if you want to wait. I know people who waited till late March and ended up not getting housing, and their prospective roommates had to scramble to find someone new :(

@Cwillbounds you’re welcome :)

Ok thank you very much natalie9494 :)

What would you say your favorite things about UT Austin have been so far?

@Cwillbounds-EVERYTHING. The school spirit, Austin, the people I’ve met, the relationships I’ve strengthened, the dorm life…I love it all :)

That’s amazing :smiley: I’ve heard that from almost all the students I’ve talked to. I absolutely cannot wait.

Is it hard to be accepted into the Biology major at UT? I am an auto admit for this university but I am worried about not being able to get into this major…
also I know you aren’t exactly pre-med but do you know if I do graduate from UT with a Bio degree, is this sufficient to get into medical school?? I want to be a Pediatrician in the future and I’m hoping this is the path that will get me there

How much of a commitment is it to be in a sorority? They sound like fun to me, but I’m a pretty independent person, and I don’t want my life to revolve around a sorority

@nw2727- The college of Natural Sciences is pretty much open to anyone who wants to get in. It isn’t as competitive as Business or Engineering.

Medical schools don’t care about your major. You could major in Liberal Arts for all they care, you just need to take the pre-med classes.

Medical schools look at GPA, MCAT scores, and ECs.

When do out of state students usually find out? I applied in October to computer science and still haven’t heard back.

What do you know about SRD?

What Are My Chances Of Getting A Dorm? I’ve Been Admitted (Auto. Admission) But Am Hesitant To Apply For Housing. I Submitted My Application On The Deadline. If I Apply Now, Will I Have A Chance?

Housing is confusing. Everyone on the Facebook group is scrambling and I’m confused why- do we really have to choose our housing now if we want to get a dorm? I still have to hear from many colleges. What will happen if I apply(?) in April?

Is it possible for me to get into University of Texas at Austin?

OK so my GPA weighted is around a 3.6. I have had really good grades in the past but messed up the first semester of my junior year. (Right now). I am in three clubs at my school to benefit the under privileged and sick children. I have many hours of community service and I have even spent time in Jamaica working with orphans this summer. I have played piano for seven years and have preformed in many recitals. I won a poem contest in sixth grade and my poem was published. My dad has very close ties with the administration board at UT. I plan to major in English and Human Rights and then after my four years I plan to go to law school. I can get really good letters of recommendation. Im taking the SAT later this month and plan to keep taking it until I get a least a 1800. What are my chances of getting in?

@nw2727-CNS is auto admission if you’re auto admit to the university :)

@sunshine341-from what I know, it is! There’s meetings and stuff like that, and always events going on. It’s not for everyone

@rhcpfan16-Last year, OOS and non auto admit found out February 17, AKA the best day of my life :)

mleahkelsea-IT’S SO NICE. and the bathrooms are lovely too! it’s just kind of far from everything on campus.

@nekochan77 just pay the $50 so you’re guaranteed! :)

@ashmarie714-Bring your SAT up a bit, write really good essays, and you’ll be just fine :slight_smile: UT is weird with admissions though…

I am a non auto admit and am guessing that i will receive a response late February. My question is : how did you deal with the stress of waiting?

Natalie - thank you for answering questions.

Any idea on how many people to plan II with engineering?

Is the school size overwhelming? Are most of your classes huge? (well I am sure your intro classes are). Like when you are walking around campus, are there just people all over the place?

Of course there are people everywhere. Many class sizes are 250plus (usually intro courses). The benefits of a 35,000+ student body.

If I just applied for housing on Feb. 7 what are my chances of getting into Jester East
