Current UW students: grades/catalyst question!

I haven't received final grades for this quarter but I am already anxious. I really don't know how to calculate for GPA because i know UW has a different grading system. Can someone help me out? Thanks.

On catalyst it says that my overall grade is a 73%.. Does that mean I will have a GPA (for this class only) of around 1.0??

I would also appreciate if someone explains to me how the UW grading system works. Thanks!

A 73% is a 2.0

Is that provided link by ICanDivideByZero apply to all UW classes? Or is it strictly for the mythology class linked at the bottom of the page?? Thanks

It is slightly different depending on the class. You’ll have to check with your professors. My bad! I meant to provide it as just a reference! Although the scale is VERY similar for each class (usually).

Yeah, it differs from class to class

pretty much every dept/class has a different grade scale, but the one linked is pretty standard if your prof hasn’t specified a different one.

It does differ quite a bit from class to class because it usually depends on the class median or average. My girlfriend averaged ~85% overall in a course this past quarter and received a 2.6, while I averaged about the same in a different course and got a 3.8. Class average is everything, so make sure you try your best to stay ahead of the curve!
