Curve discussion

What do you guys think?

I'd say little to no curve on english/science, seeing as I thought I did really well (only 1-2 wrong) and got 32/34 respectively.

Reading I can't speak to, as I had a perfect subset and a 36, and math was fairly generous at 2 off being a 35.

Can’t really speak about English in reading - I don’t think I missed any and got 36
Math - missed 1 (ridiculous sphere question) for 35
Science I missed 2 and got a 35 which is way more generous than most of the books - sometimes 1 wrong is a 34

You guys think science was curved generously? I got owned by Science.

31e
27m
33r
25s

I think math, reading, and english were probably the usual.

Science, I think was pretty generous.

it’s interesting to see half of the ppl aced the science section while the other half failed.
I got a 32 on that section XD

yes science seems to have turned up no scores in the 26-31 range lol

i got a 31 on science. no clue how though. i suck so much at science, never scored above 26. but hey, no complaints!

as for the rest: 35 english, i imagine i only missed one, i think it was the “sit” vs “sits” one. dumb!

33 math: i know i missed at least 2, but probably 4 ish.

29 reading: im not great at this section so i have no clue how many i missed.

anyone know about reading?

34 english- I think it was a normal curve(I got 18 and 16 subscores).
34 math- I do not think it was as generous as Feb. In Feb, I got a 34 with 18,15,15 subscores. This time I got 18,17,16 subscores.
27 reading- I did not think I did this badly on the reading. I got 12,17 subscores, so I think the curve was harsh. Does anyone think it might be a good measure to see if the subscores add up to the section score for English and reading? That might be an indication of a normal curve.
31 science- I think it was generous, at least missing 5, because it was similar in difficulty to December and February.

I made a 33 in Reading. How many do you think I got wrong?

Stupid jazz passage.

My son knows he got one wrong in the math (same sphere problem referenced above!), but got a 36.

He thought the science was the hardest of the three he’d taken and also got a 36 (previous 34 and 31).

Reading he has gotten a 33 all three tests so I guess it was consistent.

His big jump was in English where he got a 27 on the first ACT, a 31 last time, and a 35 this time!

If I got a 31 on the math and science, how many do you think I missed?

the science curve was pretty generous, i’d say. same with math.

“Stupid jazz passage.”
haha, agreed. i still don’t know what they meant with how many sets of performances there were that night, or whatever.

im still waiting on my scores for an unkown reason, but doctor92’s post makes me hopeful. im really only worrying about science, because i randomly bubbled 5 and guessed on 1, but if -5+ is ~31 that means i might have a 29 in my future, in which case my joy would resonate all over the country.

M: I got -2 and a 35
E: -2 and a 35
R- -2 and a 33
S- Idk, but got a 35, I assume it’s a -1.

@Big
do u remember if u put “years” or “months” for that reading question?

on the english, there are 75 questions, correct?

how does this translate into scores like 16 & 18. what would the max subscores be?

I don’t understand the subscores. D got 18 and 18 on both English and reading, but got 35 and 36 on the sections. Does that mean the English curve was tougher than the reading, or just that she missed one or two on English but it doesn’t show up on the subscores? Not that it really matters - I’d just like to understand how it works. D’s very happy with her improvement and won’t have to take the ACT again!

I think the English was curved 1 at MOST.

I definitely put years for that question… but I don’t realize how it’s relevant to the topic.
