curve for the APEuro history test?

I'm taking it, and been getting around 70% on the m/c test. My teacher says that each test is different, so she can't really tell me what the curve for the AP test will be. What was the curve for your guy's test for a 5??

Yeah, I am also taking the same test. I am getting like 70% also. What would that translate into?

i beleive somewhere around 120-122 points is what you need for a 5
to calculate multiple choice score subtract 1/4 of a point for each wrong answer then multiply total by 1.125
for essays, the dbq is worth 4.5 points, and the other frqs are 2.7 each.

What am I missing... 80 Qs, (80pts, 4.5pts, 2.7, 2.7=89.9?) I'm confused. How did you get those numbers?

What is needed for a 3 or 4.

Oh sorry, i meant that the multiplier on the dbq is 4.5 points... If you get a 7 on it you get 31.5 points for the dbq. So if you get 7s on all of your essays thats already 69.3 points and you only need 51 points on the multiple choice for a 5.

Ok our AP euro teacher told us friday:
80 questions on multiple choice:
[(number correct) - (.25 x number wrong)] x 1.125 = raw score for that section with 90 being maximum (if you get all 80 right)
3 essays: (total being 90)
DBQ: (raw score out of 9) x 4.5
FRQ: (raw score out of 9) x 2.75
FRQ: (raw score out of 9) x 2.75

Score of 5: 120-180
Score of 4: 99-119
Score of 3: 67-99
Those totals are probably right give or take 2 off. (too lazy to get it out of backpack)

I usually get a 5 or 4 on the DBQ, and a 4 or 3 on the FRQ. I don't do the MC that well, I'm guessing I will get around 50 pts... which leads me to a 3

I have a book... what else do you guys recommend?

just review a lot on wat sections u dont know.. it might be on the FRQ
For me its everything about Russia lol

goddamn english rulers and religion. I can't seem to remember

i hate the name's of rulers

I pretty much failed the multiple choice last year. And uhhhh my DBQ was s**t and somehow i still got a 3

thats good to know. I get like 60% right lol. The questions are so hard. Im a match/science person, not history.

Yeah seriously, don't stress about Euro. The multiple choice is insane and nothing like Princeton Review's. The essays are way easier than the multiple choice. Like I could have probably not taken the multiple choice and I would've done better on that section. That's how bad I did (I had the ****tiest teacher ever for euro, and to make things worse, I didn't do enough prep on my own). Thus, I got a 3 on the test. Not the best score, but hey, I passed. And yeah I'm def not a history buff. All about the maths/sciences/languages, baby

Yeah but I want a 4 or 5

I want a 5 too and I am really nervous right now.
I just hope my DBQ goes well...

i like DBQs but the FRQs scare me cuz i'm afraid i'm not going to be able to pull the stuff out of my head!! m/c is sooo long, but i'm above -average good at it(that's what my teacher said so i'm hoping she's right) so as long as i don't majorly screw up i should get a 5 ...i hope?!

thanks everyone who helped!! ^^

I know exactly how the scoring goes so I can tell you.

You need 122 points to get a 5.
To calculate how many points you get from the MCQ you use this formula: MCQ right - (MCQ wrong / 4) * 1.125 = MCQ points. So if you got 60 questions right and left no blanks, this would be the formula: 60 - (20/4) * 1.125 = 61.875 = 62
Then for the DBQ you go: DBQ score * 4.5 = DBQ points
And for each of the essays it's: essay score * 2.75 = essay points

So to get a 5, you would need to get a minimum of 60 questions right on the MCQ (with no blanks), 6 on the DBQ, and 6 on each of the essays. Yeah, it's pretty hard.

one quick question
for the FRQ, say i forget to add any sources to support my essay, will that hurt me to a great extent?

On the essays you need at least 5 or 6 pieces of factual evidence (this said to me by my AP euro teacher) to get a good grade.

yeah i said that already:
