Curve for Writing

What is the curve for the writing section?

On practice exams, I keep missing 8 consistently.... all different problems too..

Anyways what ar ethe usual curves?

The average writing curve (based on the QAS months) is below (first num=raw, second num=score):

49 80
48 79
47 76
46 73
45 71
44 70
43 68
42 67
41 65
40 64
39 63

(so on average you’ll get a 63)

But if you do well on your essay, the score could be higher than 63.

well on OCt’s SAT I reasoning

i missed 2 MC, got a 75
got a 9 on the essay
and got a 750 :(

my friend missed 1 MC but got a 8 on the essay
and he got a 770

so u really have to perform immaculately to do well
one wrong and 10 essay or bust!

^The curves can vary a whole lot, your friend might have taken a slightly harder test. There’s a poster who got an 800 with a 10 essay and -2 on the MC.

^writing is simply knowing the rules. CR is the hard one

I like critical reading. I usually miss maybe 3 on the critical reading passage section and numerous ones on the vocabulary. For writing, I over analyze the questions. I can’t really learn that many vocabulary words in a short period of time.

Yeah, CR is my worst section too, but i’ve gotten better mainly through practice and using Direct Hits for vocab.

On Dec last year, I missed 1 on MC, got a 10 on the essay, and ended up with 780.
