Curve on state

Next week, I'm taking the ACT as part of the Michigan Merit Exam provided by my school. Basically every junior in Michigan is required to take it, and it will count as a regular ACT score. My friends told me that because all the students take this test, the curve on it will be extremely lenient. Is that true? And if it is, then just about how much leeway should I expect on each section? I'm aiming for a 36, so being able to get one or two wrong on a section and still have a perfect score on it would help me a lot.

Doesn’t matter who’s taking the test. The curve is already predetermined. It won’t be any more lenient.

^ good to know…you learn something all the time on this website.

Isn’t the ACT averaged so two 36s and 2 35s still count as a 36

Yoskis yes that is correct

TheKongo, thanks for the reply. I thought it would be unfair if the curve was more lenient than on regular testing. I guess I’ll just have to pull off 36’s on at least two sections, and 35’s on the rest.
