CURVE PREDICTIONS AND DISCUSSION FOR FEB. 8 2014 ACT

What do all you you think the curve will look like? I think the English/Reading will have a standard curve and the Math/Science will be generous (more so science than math).
Science: 36,36,35,35,34,33,32,32...
Math: 36,35,35,34,33,32...

I honestly think the curve for Science might be even more generous than that.

Yeah, it was definitely incredibly hard. I usually never run out of time and I did on that test with around 3 questions left. Especially the last passage…

Made the mistake of skipping the students passage as I thought I was running out of time and the student one is usually what troubles me the most. Ultimately couldn’t figure out half the questions in the last, meanwhile I went back to the student one and answered a good three of them without trouble in the last 2-3 minutes. Think I missed a good 7-8 between the two. Hoping for a huge curve.

I hope the science curve is generous. I never, NEVER, have had much trouble with the science, but today I feel that I did terrible. I had form 72A. The salt water problems and the section about the LED lights just made me want to pull my hair out. Pretty sure I’m going to get like a 27 or worse on the science.

I’d say the math curve won’t be too generous. I only had 2-3 problems that threw me for a loop.

Yes, I agree, the science was unusually hard and i struggled to finish at the end. I made the same mistake of doing the LED light one first instead of the student one, such a struggle. maybe 36 35 35 34 33 33 32 31?

Surprisingly I found the science to be about the same if not easier than the practice tests in the red book. Math, on the hand, I thought was harder. I know I missed at least 2 or so. On the other hand I’ve only taken a few practice. Reading and English the usual.

I hope there is a curve for math. I really need it I think.

I thought math was tough for most people, but I only had two I wasn’t sure about.

Chart- How many can you miss on ACT to get a certain score
http://www.freetestprep.com/blog/resources/act-test-scoring-table-how-many-questions-can-miss-on-each-section-to-get-a-certain-act-score/

i think math will be -1 36

The test was the exact same as the October 2012 test, so the curve should be the same. Can someone find out what the curve for that test was?

We can’t find out because ACT will not release any information about tests they will recycle. But we can infer through some statistics ;)

well apparently you can get a 35 and a 34 and a 32 on the Science portion which is good news.

also can get a 35, 34, 33, 32 in reading

math you can get a 35 34 33 32

looks like -2 = 36 in math :)

How do you know?

@yoyo27 very similar test as october 27th so probably same curver

October 12 used both the 72A and the 68E versions of February’s test? I can’t believe they would recycle so close in time. I’m disappointed actually.

yes where did you find the october one
