can math ever be 800 if you miss one?

I believe it can be in very rare cases. Im thinking 800, 780, 770, 750 for math
or something along those lines.

^^ yes 10 char

On the January test 1 wrong was an 800, and everyone that took the Jan test told me this math was much harder.

It is possible to miss 1 and get an 800 on math, but it's really rare.

Well...it's not that rare....since the New SAT started (on the old SAT you could get 1 or 2 math wrong an get an 800 always...so we'll ignore that)

1 Wrong = 800:
Apil 05- NO
May 05- NO
Jun 05- NO
Oct 05- N0
Nov 05- NO
Dec 05-NO
Jan 06-YES

1/7 chance.

i think it might be 1 wrong still 800 because the general consensus is that math was tough on all of the tests.

hi, today was my first time taking the SAT. Can you explain about why there is an experiment secion? Also what do they do with the experiment section?

also, idk if this applies, but since most juniors take it on this day.. wouldn't the overall score be lower..?? so the curve would be more generous

The curve is predetermined - it doesn't matter who else takes the test.

madamebovary, I'm not sure WHY there is one, but there is and they just don't count it. If you remember, you had one extra math or one extra CR section (for me, I had - after the essay - math, math, CR, math, CR (or something like that) so one extra math section means a math section was experimental). That extra section just simply gets thrown out when they calculate your score. You could have gotten every question wrong in that section, get every question right in the other secions of that topic and get an 800.

or did like i did on one of my practices where i got 100% on the expiermental math and 730 on the rest...kinda got me mad.

So your curve prediction means -6 in math = 700 and -3 in CR is 800 for example?

I actually thought M was much more easier compared to Oct. I hope they have that kind of generous curve and how sure are you guys about the CR curve?

if -6 is 700 then i'm screwed to get like a 450 or something. i left 10+ blank.
