For the March 10 SAT, I heard that since a LOT more people take the SAT this month that the curve will be significantly higher than on the other SATs.

True or false? And by how much?

For the March 10 SAT, I heard that since a LOT more people take the SAT this month that the curve will be significantly higher than on the other SATs.

True or false? And by how much?

i hope true and i hope by 500 points

ahahaha.

but yeah... this isn't the first time i've heard that when more and more people take the SAT, the curve is higher. PLEASE GOD LET THIS BE TRUE.

isnt it the other way around?? When fewer ppl take the test, the bad scores will significantly affect the average, so the curve should be higher. ALTHOUGH, more stupid ppl take the test in March...but that is balanced out by the geniuses/really smart ppl who take the test in March as well (AKA half the ppl on this site lol)...

Curve is preset....it doesn't matter how many people take it.

Wow, i might actually get above a 1950, maybe even 2000. Right after and during taking it I had zero confidence that i would even get above a 1900. I hope to god that it isn't preset, but even if it is, they know more people take it in march, so more low scores.

I don't think the curve is preset...not from what I've heard.

That would be awesome, because I can't see alot of people who took that test knowing any of that vocab, which means my score would be higher then it should be, lol.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Most of the kids who took the test with me were pretty dumb...
There was about 100something kids at my test center, what about you guys? Is that normal?

I was at a university and there were about 40 kids in each test room

Once again, the curve is preset.

well, CB knows that the largest number of kids will take the test in March...which inevitably warrants a greater diversity concerning levels of ability...so...common sense would tell them to preset the curve to a higher number compared to the curve for all the other tests. no?

As more and more people take it, the distribution of scores becomes more and more even. As less people take it, the more likely you are to have outliers.

I think theres more lower scorers in May probably, but I saw enough at the HS I was at to assume plenty took it this time. Wouldn't the dumber kids put it off until May instead of taking it in March?
