Is there a curve on act? I have been getting 28 to 30 on acts throughout the year without studying. Now that I have studied i got my practice test up to a 32. My math and english held me back from a 34 composite because i got wrong answers. However, my science and reading had only a couple wrong but those stupid mistakes made it harder to compensate for math/english because a few errors drops you four of so points on the reading/ science.

Is there a curve added to your raw score on the legit act??

Yes, they curve it. And it varies wildly. For example, last administration I’m pretty sure I missed 4 questions. Two on math and two on science. Yet it was a really difficult test, so it was curved generously, and I got 35s on both which gave me the 36. If it had been curved like the curve that is typically displayed, I would’ve had 34 M and 32 S. At the same time, on some released curves you can miss 2 on reading and get a 36, but on this time, 1 question dropped you to like a 34, and English went down one. Bottom line: you’re being compared to those who took the test the same time as you did. If you do well comparatively you’ll score well.
