Curving tests...

So my IB Math HL I teacher curves every test and is really lenient with turning in assignments. The tests are supposed to be pretty hard, but I don't feel like they're THAT difficult. They usually have around 20-30 free response questions, and we generally have around an hour to complete our tests. The paper with the most questions correct gets a 110% and the rest are curved from there.

I've gotten 103, 85, and 2 (or 3?) 99s on my tests and got a 100% last quarter. I probably don't have highest grade (that is, if my teacher didn't cut grades off at 100%), but I'm almost definitely the highest among the other sophomores, and likely top 3 or 4 (of 24 people) in the class.

On one hand, I feel kind of like a cheat because my teacher curves almost everything, but on the other hand I am at (well, very close to) the top of a class with mainly (smart) juniors.

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this.

Be happy that you have a curve. Our tests aren’t curved, and what we get is what we get.

Except I get 100’s on everything.

“Pointless! Pointless!” says HarryJones. “Utterly pointless! This thread is pointless.”

^ i second that

I love the curve. The curve is how I pulled off an A last grading period in AP Calculus.

Curves are utter ********. You are getting grades you don’t deserve.
