Custom Textbooks or Regular Textbooks if cheaper

Hey guys, I'm transferring in the fall and I was just wondering if I should get a regular textbook that is cheaper than the custom textbook that is offered on the UCLA store site. What is a custom textbook and how essential is it to the class?

Custom edition = usually a softcover text with a few omitted chapters. Buy the regular text if it is cheaper because it is easier to resell.

Custom edition might also have a supplement. You should try to find out if the custom edition is necessary, otherwise get the regular edition

One time I bought a custom edition book and when I opened it, it just had a paper with custom isbn covering the regular edition isbn >.<
