(custom) textbooks

I bought my textbooks from ebay and now i just learned that certain textbooks have (custom) next to them and i need to purchase them from the uw bookstore. can someone shed some light on this? thank you

What course is it for?

A lot of times the custom textbooks just have things in them like a Key to membership on a certain site that you will need to use to turn in homework. In this case, the bookstore or the certain website almost always carries these keys separately for purchase.

Knowing what course it is for, though, may allow someone to speak for what the custom part is.

math 125. please let me know if you find out. I REALLY need to know

thank you :)

I took 125, but I bought that book from the bookstore, so I can’t say for sure what the custom part is. It is not a key for a website, though, I can say for sure. The calc series doesn’t do any online homework as far as I’ve experienced. If you email your professor, they will most likely be happy to answer your question and then you can know for sure.

my schedule doesn’t show the professor so im guessing it still hasnt been decided yet?

here is the book i bought

[Amazon.com: Calculus (Stewart’s Calculus Series) (9780495011606): James Stewart: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Calculus-Stewarts-James-Stewart/dp/0495011606)

please let me know if it looks familiar

I’m pretty sure the UW Custom edition is just an abridged version of Stewart’s text, so the chapter numbers may be off, but all problems and problem numbers should be the same (for instance, #3 in chapter about integrals will be the same in both the ordinary text and UW edition, just the actual chapter number might differ).
