Do they have a registry? If not, I’d send an outfit for 6-12 months. They outgrow the newborn stuff so quickly.
That is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard.
Thank you - we just learned that one of our nieces is expecting her first baby and took her “baby library” and set it up for her baby. That put a smile on our faces! Can’t really go wrong with books. Use the Newberry Award lists for current and past award winning kids books, and don’t forget a few fun classics like Curious George!
For our niece’s first babys, there have been showers so I have not given a present at the birth. All of them live in different states so we aren’t there for most events. We tend to bring gifts to the younger kids when we see them. We just saw a 10.5 and 14 year great nephew and great niece and did not bring gifts, but did to the three that were 5 and under (seen at different times). I have been personalizing step stools for the kids for their first birthdays.
We still give birthday and Christmas gifts to the young adult nephews we see regularly, but not to the ones that are far away (that ended with age 22 or college graduation).
