217 in WA. ■■■ -___-

230 international…pretty sure that doesn’t help anyone. And if anyone else overseas is stressing, my counselor said that he didn’t receive the letter until last Friday even though it’s dated August 24, so it’s probably just the USPS being slow q:

I heard from a student who was “in” with a 216 in Wisconsin. Since recent cutoffs were 207-210, the actual number should be much lower.

are the cutoffs generally higher or lower this year?

daughter had 222 in SC, not sure what cutoff is

I don’t know generally if the cut-offs are higher or lower, but in Ohio, I think this year’s is one point higher than last year.

Updating AZ, WI, SC, and internationals.

So anyone above a 201 but below state semi-finalist is commended? I have some curious buddies.

^Yes. Your “buddies” will be commended if they are in that situation.

My son had 223/International

Request: Please make it clear that posted scores are for NMSF qualifiers. Posting a score without indicating status makes interpretation of the post difficult.

Note: It can also be helpful to post high non-qualifying scores. If you know you are commended and not NMSF, feel free to post your score for any state in which the cutoff has not yet been established. We can then represent a cut-off range like this
{state}>{highest posted non-qualifying score}, <={lowest posted qualifying score}

I just physically looked at the piece of paper that National Merit sent my guidance counselor informing him that the cutoff for Florida is 210. It also listed how many students in the state got each score. 235 was the least common, with 1 student, 240 the second least with 3 students. 246 students scored equal to or above my score. Several hundred beyond that also qualified. Over 66,000 took the test.

There is another thread for this—MODERATORS, can you consolidate them all??

Can we get a few more people from VA to report in? The score for VA shows a link to a post, but the link is bad and that post doesn’t exist.

I have updated the link. However I did assimilate all the relevant data posted in that thread into the list here. The VA score is the only one that has not yet been superseded by subsequent information.
