please cut the crap, i want your BRUTAL HONEST OPINION! i really need the truth so please be realistic with me and help me narrow down my list!
thanks for the input! what can i do to improve my chances at these schools?? chance me and i'll chance you back!
-rising senior!

Pick 6-10 schools, instead of 25.

oh yeah def! i just wanna see which schools i have no chance at first and then start cutting them off...like yale :(
haha

your list is way too long...

Why aren't you taking SATs?...

you don't need to take the SAT I if you have ACT, but some of those schools and accelerated med programs require SAT IIs in specific subject areas in addition to ACT.

Is it me, or does this come off as extremely pretentious?

yeah insubvert is right, most of the programs require sat or act
at my school, they really push the acts, not the sats so i only took that. also, i think i am naturally better at the act because it includes different subject areas

and by NOOO means did i want to seem ostentatious! im sorry if i came off like that! most of the schools on that list are dream school, and i'm quite sure i dont have a chance at most! sorry if i seemed that way, but i just want the honest truth. too many times i have heard "ohh yeah you def have a chance at blah blah" but i just want to see what people really think! sorry!

why is vanderbilt in the safety category? its highly selective..

thats impressive about the business u started though.

EX200855, i think insubvert meant that you HAVE to take SAT IIs, whether you like it or not. ACT only substitutes for SAT I, not both I and II. So if you don't take those, you're pretty much screwed.

also, you might not have meant to make the title ostentatious, but u sure as hell made it that way. no offense, but seems like you're pretty cocky when it comes to your resume (and u do have to right to b that way i suppose). so no need to chance you. you already know you have a good chance at most of those schools.

ouch sorry guys! :(
i just wanted a title that would grab ppls attention! didnt mean to come off like that!!
and i said future doc cause that is the career path i am looking into and i am applying to medical programs.

ohh and vandy is probably a saftey for me because i worked at vandy and both my parents have REALLLYYY strong connections there, i dunno if i wanna go there tho

ohh and if you want me to chance you back, leave me a link! :)

Yeah, I know for a fact Northwestern's, as well as other schools, require the SATII in Chemistry.

They're all selective. Your test scores are low for almost all of the schools. You should retake what you can. You can't really beat your ECs and GPA though.

My honest opinion: I see no AP Chemistry (or even regular/honor Chemistry) and thus think all the med programs are a long shot. Sorry to say, but Chemistry is way more important than Biology.

yeah i understand, my standardized test scores are the worst thing in my resume, i guess i just dont test well.
i did take hons chem sophomore year and i have a legit reason for not taking ap chem which i will add in the "additional info" part of the application.

thanks guys!

Why didn't you seek out a Chem course in a local community college?

nice. my school only allows dual enrollment for certain courses and frankly, there is nothing i can do now about not taking chem...haha well no one's perfect!
consider some of my weaknesses not having taken chem ap and bad test scores!

I read it quickly, the same way an adcom would -- the $40,000 from the charity sticks out in a positive way.

The 31 ACT stands out in a negative way. While I think the super selectives don't care about the difference between 34 and 36, my gut tells me 31 will raise questions -- "Is this person a super hard worker who has maxed out their capability? Is there anything in reserve for the time when everything gets MUCH harder?"

It now comes down to the essays and recs, as it always does with super selective schools.

And as it always with great stats, the Top 10 schools are still reaches, the 20-30 are matches, and 10-20 are reach/match. All depends on the picture you and your recommenders paint of you. Is it compelling? Will the adcom say "I just gotta meet this person!".

You need safeties on your list and Vanderbilt doesn't count, regardless of how well connected you think you are.

i agree and your research seems really vague/insignificant.
