Cutoff for Texas

So I got a 221 in Texas this year. I know that this is higher than any cutoff has ever been for Texas, but I'm still wondering if I will be okay for semifinalist status this year. What is it looking like it's going to be? Thanks in advance.

You’ll make it; don’t worry. Here are the cutoffs for the last few years.

216 2013
219
215
216
215
215 2008

Thanks for the reply! May I ask where you got that 216 number from? I’ve been looking in a lot of places and couldn’t seem to be able to find a definitive cutoff number anywhere.

The state-by-state historical cutoffs are posted in a number of different places. Just run a google search.

I guess the year number if for the class of graduation. So the 2013 figure is probably for the test on 2011.

^ Correct

That is the last 6 cutoff scores for Texas. We won’t know the 2012 PSAT/Class of 2014 number until September… We can speculate that since the Commended cutoff is 203 (highest ever), that the NMSF cutoff for Texas (indeed all states) should be near/at/above the previous high watermark - which in most cases was two cycles ago 2010 PSAT/Class of 2012 (when the commended cutoff was 202)

Rock – thank you for clarifying.
