CUWinds & music/symphonies/ensembles/orchestras/bands @ Cornell

Hi guys. I'm going to be a transfer student to Cornell this falland I plan to audition for CUWinds. How is the audition process like? I read the requirements on their webpage but I'd love to hear some perspective on it from Cornellians. Is it hard to get in for clarinets? And do people often get rejected? I know this might sound like an immature question but do you have to memorize your scales?

I've been playing the clarinet since middle school and have played in bands and orchestras. I'm not the best player, but i'm definitely not a beginner. I'm also not that great with musical theory, would that be a hindrance? Thanks guys!

Although I don’t know from experience, I read on the page that you do have to know your scales (including the chromatic scale). I plan on auditioning as a trumpet and I applied, but I still haven’t gotten my audition time (maybe they don’t check their e-mails during the summer?). I know absolutely nothing in terms of theory, but I don’t think that really matters. Also, you can always do the Marching Band since I think they don’t cut.
