cv/resume

Hello,
I'm looking at numerous graduate school's ph.d programs for sociology. I noticed most schools do not require a CV or resume with your application packet. How will they know my accomplishments, ie. papers written, thesis, honors, etc?

Would it be wrong to send a copy of my resume or CV along with my packet? Should work experience be included?

thanks,
matt

i think most programs assume that you will include a cv. even if they dont, it could only help you.

Many of my applications have a space for "anything else which you think should be included" -- I'm including a copy of my CV in that space. Just make sure it's as succinct as possible.

Also, most application forms I've been working through have boxes in which to include each category of resume items: for example, they have a "publications and research" section, a "grants, fellowships, and academic awards" section, a "work and other professional experience" section, etc. It might be helpful to include a resume in addition, but you might want to go look through the application forms once again to see whether they do ask for this information in other ways.

Although not required, I believe most PhD programs will expect you to submit a CV, even if they don't explicitly request it.
