My last piece of Application material to USNA was submitted and updated on my candidate status page September 14 but I have not received a letter from USNA concerning Candidate Visit Weekends.

I have a 760 math 710 verbal SAT, I've been Captain of the High School swim team for two years and MVP for three years, I'm the Student Government Vice President at my school of 1600+ students, I play trumpet in our school's audition based Concert Jazz Band which tours Europe in April and has regularly been chosen as one of the top 15 jazz bands in the country, I attended NASS in June, and regularly Alter Serve and volunteer at my church...

does everyone who is qualified receive a CVW and should I be concerned for not yet hearing from USNA?

Try not to worry about not being invited yet. Visit weekends continue into the spring. Remember, many of the people who are getting invitations now completed their applications months ago (very early July for my daughter).

Do NOT get so hung up on whether you had an invitation to CVW or attended NASS. My son did not attend either NASS or CVW and his is currently preparing to graduate from USNA Class of 2008. He did not have an LOA either. He did visit USNA a couple of times on his own nickel. Bottom line is that he is like most of the Mids that I have met from his class. I also know of several candidates that attended NASS and CVW and ultimately did not get an appointment. This is a very long process and worrying about why you either did or did not get an invite to CVW will make you nuts. If you really want to attend a CVW, make sure that you communicate that to your BGO. Continue to be a strong candidate, explore your other options including NROTC and the other academies too. Stay in communication with your BGO and send any additional awards/achievements to admissions to be added to your file and most importantly.....GOOD LUCK!!!

if you want a candidate visit weekend, and you dont hear anything about it now...just ask your regional officer, that's what I did.
i didn't get a 'formal' invite
i did attend nass though (but i don't think this really matters)

if you do get a letter, does that mean they have found you academically qualified?
I did attend NASS, so I don't think that had much to do with it.
