Anyone going to the CWIT interview Feb 28?
My D rsvp’d.
Hoping to arrange a tour also.
So I know this is late, but I am a current CWIT scholar so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
@swimmergirl123 thanks!
I do have a couple of questions. What are the dorms like for CWIT scholars? We only saw the regular dorm - 2 rooms sharing a bathroom.
Also, do you happen to be out of state? I was wondering if for out of state CWIT students, does the scholarship cover all of tuition?
And what do you like best about the added stuff that CWIT students do. What don’t you like?
Joining CWIT was the best choice I made coming into college. The llc is probably very similar to the room you saw with two bedrooms sharing a bathroom. Being on the llc was my favorite part of freshmen year. Living on a floor with people who share the same interests as you was a great way to make instant and lifelong friends.
I am in state, but there are some out of state students in the program. I’m not sure how it works for out of state, but I’m pretty sure it will cover tuition.
CWIT freshmen are required to take a one credit intro to college course where we learned about all UMBC has to offer and how to write a cover letter/resume and such. This is how I got to know all the other scholars and we all went to lunch afterwards. CWIT also host required events such as networking events which are all beneficial, and optional social events. Freshmen are given a faculty mentor their freshmen year, which is how I got the research position I currently have. CWIT is an excellent resource to have.
If you have any other questions, ask away.
