D applied to Acting, BFA at SUNY Purchase, but was denied and Accepted to Theatre, BA

My daughter applied to BFA Acting at SUNY Purchase, but was deferred and accepted to the BA Theatre program instead. I’m hoping someone can shed some light on the BA Theatre program. Every post I find is solely on the BFA Acting program. If you enter as a BA in Theatre, do you have opportunities to still audition for shows, and act, even if you’re not in the BFA acting program? Is there an opportunity to apply again to the BFA Acting program after the first semester? Are your chances greater if you’re already accepted into the school in the BA Theatre program? Lastly, I am unsure if my daughter has the stamina to handle the rigorous reputation the BFA Acting program has. Should I be advising her to stick with the BA in Theatre, even if I know her dream is to actually perform?

My D is a sophomore BFA Acting student at SUNY Purchase. I copied your message and sent it to her in an email. I will let you know what she says!
