For the people on the priority waitlist, I have heard that the Office of Admissions will be calling individuals on Thursday night (April 5th) to tell them if they were accepted or not. I hope to get in, and good luck to everyone else!

carrera, check your private messages. Thanks!

PM sent......

They're supposed to call us between 5 and 9. They call in order of preference, going down the list until they fill the class, so the later it is in the evening, the less likely it is you'll get in. So nerve-wrecking....

crossing fingers. hard.

check your email - i just got an email from office of admissions that basically said "we want to make sure you still want priority waitlist, send an email back"

i am SO nervous!! what school did you guys apply to?

really? i'll have to check my e-mail when i get home. i applied for CFA (visual arts). what about you?

nsdlevin, since priority wait list is binding, how/why would they go down the list to "fill the class"? shouldn't they already know who they'll be calling to accept, maybe with a few weird exceptions?

I just got that e-mail too. I'm PWL for Musical Theatre/Acting...the chances of getting in are so slim, but I really, really, really hope it works out.

All my fingers and toes are crossed that you all get off the waitlist! Good Luck!! - and to lindsaylou33 "Break a leg"! :)

I think they just go down because of the exceptions. People on the priority waiting list might be waiting to hear from other colleges where they were waitlisted too. But I dunno, that's what I heard.

I'm on PWL for SCS and Tepper.

What do you guys think of the possibility to get accepted at MCS (Bio major)?

Thanks,

whats the difference between priority wait listing and just waitlisting

Hey kmcpc... I was accepted to MCS for Bio and am not going to attend CMU. I opened up a spot for you!

danhyoo-

Those on the Priority Waitlist sent in a deposit and said they would definately go to CMU if they were offered a slot. If you don't go you lose the deposit.

actually, we haven't sent in deposits yet.

the deal with the priority wait list (which, to my knowledge, is just some crazy animal that CMU invented, although i'd be curious to know if other schools do this too?) is that you sign a form (after they don't directly accept you) that says you'll attend CMU and be ready to put down a $500 deposit if they do take you off the wait list.

i guess it's like early decision, only in wait list form. i'm really curious as to reasons why someone would be able to get out of paying the deposit should they be accepted from the PW and decide not to attend.

the only thing i could think of would be if you didn't get your financial aid assessment yet... but, with that e-mail they sent out today, i can't see how you'd explain replying "yes" if you still didn't have the info.

any other ideas?

I got my email also....

PWL Tepper, regular WL for hss

PW CFA design

anyone else find it bizarre that in 24 hours, you'll know where you'll end up next year?

not quite sure how well the AP lit/french/german kids'll be concentrating tomorrow!

I'm definitely freaking out already...23 hours and counting!
