D in AP Stats.

Hey guys! Do you think colleges will rescind my admission if I got a D in AP Stats? My college and career counselor told me they won't care because I already fulfilled the requirement by passing 3 years of math. I'm still not sure if she's telling me the right thing. Help???

They might. It depends on the university.

There really is no excuse to be getting a D in AP Stats. Especially first semester AP Stats, because the first semester stuff was super easy. If you're getting a D in first semester, you're likely to get an F in second semester when it gets a lot harder, which would make getting rescinded a lot more likely.

i unfortunately have to agree, and low B is the lowest it should go, a D shows u shouldnt be in the class, and AP classes are regarded as college level courses (u can get credit) so it doesnt showcase u in a positive way, should have dropped it.

sorry for pointing out the obvious news, but u need to no

Well, I'm getting the best grade in the class right now and it's a B-. My stats teacher really is making things harder than it's suppose to be. I'm not getting a D right now but I'm always afraid of getting one. I'm hoping to make it to a UC.

The UC's will rescind if you get a D without a VERY good explanation for what went wrong. Just get a C and everything will be okay.

What would be a legit explanation if you get a D?

Someone really close to you died? Idk. But if you have a B now, just try hard to keep it up.

Ok how do you guys "explain grades"? If it's one grade, it seems like explaining is just emphasizing a minor problem and making excuses. How do you do so with out making it seem that way? Do you write an extra letter saying "I made a all A's and one F my high school record because..."?

They would be more in the know than high school students.

^ Not necissarily, some counselors are focused on just getting their kids to graduate for the sake of the high school's stats. But most schools have graduation specialists that know, but still they have been out of the loop for a while and get their information, just as we do.
