D in Calc AB Senior Year

Hi there. First time posting at this forum, although i have been visited the website on multiple occasions.

My questions is how badly does getting a D in your senior affect your chances of getting into college? I realize sometimes the situation of the individual may affect the actual decision of colleges so I'm going to list my specifics. (i'm looking mostly at UC's: irvine, berkely, SD, riverside, SB, LA)

I go to Troy High School, which has been ranked in the top 100 schools in the nation the past two years by newsweek.

I maintained a 3.61 academic gpa, got a 2160 on the SAT and wrote a good personal statement. The lowest SAT II score i got was 640 (out of three, the highest being 660). I've also gotten a 3 on the AP Euro test, and 4's in AP Lit and AP US History.

Usually when people say they got rescinded for having a D, they don't list their own situation which makes things vague. Thus far, i have maintained my UC eligibility, but am just very very very concerend about this D. Your thoughts? Thank you!

Isn’t Berkeley notorious for rescinding acceptances? You may be headed for trouble bro.

I think a D could definitely get your acceptance rescinded, but listing your other information doesn’t help, as the people here don’t know enough to evaluate your exact situation and give you a definite answer. Call them if you want to know for sure.

You really need a reason to explain to whatever UC campuses accept you – senioritis is the wrong answer. Yes, Troy is the top public-magnet in The OC, but UC will not cut you much slack for that either.

btw: unless your essays indicate that you have overcome adversity or are low income, first gen to college, and other UC plus factors, Cal and LA are real stretches, even before your senior grades. SD is based purely on points, and is also a big reach.
