D in math course that appears to be a duplication

I got a D in my major course, Math4A, which is equal Math 2E and Math 2 D togather in other school. Last quarter I got A in Math 2D and C+ in Math 2E, which is lower than B. Is that affact major prerequisite transfer admission? I mean UC system will look both or just combain togather.

What happened in math 2E, and math 4A?

Math is an area where what you learn this year depends upon what you learned last year and the year before.

I just looked online and if I found the right thing then 2E is the end of precalculus and trigonometry, and 4A is intermediate calculus. Calculus depends a lot on algebra, precalculus (including limits) and trigonometry. It is really hard to do calculus until you are strong on the prerequisites.

Depending upon your major and what courses you take in the future, calculus is likely to be very important and something that you need to learn well.

I am study in Irvine Valley College and Math 4 A in IVC is equal to Math 2D and Math 2E in UCI. It’s like 2D is first part of 4A and 2E is second part of 4A. cuz i cant get lower than B on my major course, i got C+ in 2E, but if combain togather its higher than B.

If the one math is equal to the previous two taken they likely won’t count it because #1, you weren’t qualified for a retake and #2, there are usually unit limitations in place to avoid just this thing. It depends on how they perceive these courses. But you’re in a good position to argue your case if they appear the same (duplication) at one UC, as you seem to indicate. Just make sure you have at least 60 semester units by end of fall, not counting the D course.
