D in Spanish 4 Junior year, does it matter?

My Junior year recently ended and I received a D for Spanish 4 for my second semester grade. I hope to get into any of these: UCSB, UCI, UCD, UCM, UCSC, UCSD, SDSU. I know that admissions are usually before January so I couldn't retake the class and have it replace the grade before I send off transcripts. My question is does it really matter? The a-g requirement says 2 years of a language other than English with a grader higher then a C. I already have that from Freshman and Sophomore year. So dos it matter that it will be a D? Can someone please help me out with this, I am worried.

Thanks!

Junior grades are important, so yes, it does matter. How much it affects your chances of admission…I’m not sure.

The fact that it’s a D does factor into your grades (gpa & such). The fact it’s Spanish IV might not hurt you so much. The main thing is colleges look for growth in your grades throughout high school. Seeing that D might hurt you. However, I don’t know any of your other grades so this might not be a fair assumption :stuck_out_tongue: If your other grades are pretty solid, it might not hurt at all.
