<p>So I have many ECs and have volunteered at a lab (which in itself should probably have given me >500 hours since I'm serving the community by producing research) but have been too lazy to record all my community service hours. So basically right now I have like 11. Will colleges (like for instance Caltech or MIT) hold it against me?</p>
<p>If there's no way to prove or verify that you did any of it? I think you already know the answer.</p>
<p>However, if you actually have results from this lab work (a paper published or something) or if you can get someone who knows you did the hours to vouch for you (like someone from the lab) they you'll be OK in terms of getting "credit" for having done it.</p>
