DAAD (German Academic Exchange) RISE Scholarship & general qs

<p>I applied to the DAAD RISE (Science/Engineering) summer internship in Germany and was rejected. It appears that they prefers students who will have completed their third year by the time of internship (I am a second year student). I was wondering if anyone has experience with this program and its level of competition. I applied because the DAAD had some chemistry internships I found very interesting. I have some undergraduate research (2qtrs) but no published papers or thesis yet.</p>

<p>In general, I was wondering if anyone has been to an interesting Chemistry or Biochemistry research internship and the level of competition for these.</p>

<p>Bump… but would be interested to hear also about experience in areas outside of chem / biochem.</p>

<p>I don’t know about the RISE program specifically, but I did get a DAAD undergraduate scholarship. One thing that they said was that they liked applicants who had clear, focused goals and knew what they wanted to do in Germany and WHY.</p>
