so I’ve got an update for RISE Pro applicants
I just spoke to Martina over the phone and I was told they matched all internships with potential candidates. At this point, if you have NOT received an email from them, it means you are probably rejected. She said she was in the process of drafting the rejection emails at the moment. With that being said, it is also possible for SOME applicants to be accepted based on turnover from the first pool of applicants, however chances of that happening is very slight.

I got my rejection e-mail for RISE Pro this morning. I’m glad I know so I can start making backup plans. Good luck to everyone else!
any news on RISE for undergraduate students?
I’m kinda at the point where I am starting to make backup plans because I’ve lost most of the hope I had in getting in 
I gave up waiting… Looks like it’s backup plan now TAT

Me also. I’m in the process of doing the paperwork for another internship. It’s really too bad, it would’ve been an amazing experience. It was fun while it lasted guys 
I have gotten a reply from one of the projects in Hamburg, and they already have an applicant for their group. Yeah, it’s looking more and more like they have all the students already for RISE. Anyone else contact PhD students and get a response? But yeah, I’ve also been applying to several other internships too, because I am not holding out too much hope.
Now that I’m thinking about it, we may want to hold out hope. Compare dollar-euro between march 2014 and march 2015, and you’ll see what I mean…
I know that euro is going down like crazy but how do we have hope considering that?
The relative buying power of the stipend has gone down, thus more people may feel they cannot afford the program.

For those of you who applied for the DAAD Undergraduate Scholarship, this is the email that I received from the DAAD New York office on March 9th, 2015:
"This is to confirm that we have received your complete application for the DAAD Undergraduate Scholarship 2015/16.
In total, 153 eligible applications were submitted from colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. DAAD is able to award a scholarship to about 20% of the applicants.
The DAAD selection committee will meet in mid April after reviewing the applications and we expect to have the final results of the competition by mid-May. As soon as we have the results, we will inform you by email.
At this point we do not need any additional documents from you unless you get awarded the scholarship.
In the meantime, please do not telephone or email regarding the status of your application. However, if you do not receive a notification by May 18, 2015, please get in touch with us. Also, in case there are any changes in your email address, please notify me. Should you decide to withdraw from the competition, it is also very important that you inform me immediately."
Back in February, I was told by a DAAD representative back in February that we should be given results in March, so I’m confused as to why we have to wait until May. They will be accepting around 30 students this year. Has anyone else heard more information about this?
@maritimer don’t the scholarships start in May?? Like the 3 I applied for have their expected start date as May 18. Unless that is for something else
@maritimer and based off the fb group numbers they’ve accepted about 150. On there website it says that they can award about 300.
The scholarships are different from their summer program, I think!
