All, if anyone gets accepted to Nuremberg, I have been there and it is amazing! Charming, beautiful, and lots of fun!
@NicolleD I have heard mixed things about the actual decision process. From what I understand DAAD bases most of their selections on GPA, but that the graduate students’ opinions on their applicants also have a large influence on the final decision. I heard from a few people that although they did not have the most competitive GPAs, they were still chosen due to their strong letters of recommendation and cover letters. So to summarize, I think that it is dependent on a bunch of different factors. I also traveled to Nuremberg this summer and felt the same way. It was stunning(:
Has anyone in previous years ever get notified of acceptance before March?
@bioavailability not that I have heard.
Hi USCcocky23! Did you email them first or did they email you? Thanks!
So apparently someone in Reddit has just received an email of acceptance
I was accepted! Summer in Germany!
Me too! Congrats(:
Congrats h2p2017!
Thank you @NicolleD!
@h2p2017
@Nicolle
Congrats!!!
Do you guys mind sharing your applied projects and maybe your stats(e.g. gpa, experience)? Thanks!!!
Hopefully they’re still sending out decisions… anyone else heard any feedback?
@ccgreen thank you! I don’t mind. I will be working in a bioengineering lab and have a 3.4 gpa. I have worked in a bioengineering lab for almost a year now and have taken German for a handful of years. I hope this helps. I am rooting for you!
@h2p2017 This means I still have a chance at the Pathology lab! Haha. Congrats! It must be so exciting for you right now, I really hope I’m next.
@Gebraroest Thank you so much! I cannot express how truly ecstatic I am. I heard that scholarships were offered through mid-March in previous years. Keeping my fingers crossed for you(:
Does anyone know whether they send out letters all at the same time? I’m really growing anxious right now.
Thanks in advance,
Hi. I am going to be working in genetics I have prior research experience and my GPA is 3.8.
@thudo123 from what I understand, they wait for the students to accept or decline their offers. If they choose to decline their offers, those positions are then offered to other students, but I could be incorrect.
@h2p2017
Thanks so much!!! Glad you are going to have an awesome summer!!! I applied to software engineering programs but I can’t speak German:( Really really want to get into this program…
@NicolleD
Thank you!!! Genetics sounds so cool!
