I just saw on another forum (while searching the internet for RISE info) that someone got a rejection email last week! So maybe there is still hope!
@pomsky7
Really? Let’s keep fingers crossed! I’d been doing the same thing but then I just gave up… BTW are you in the States?
@ccgreen No, I’m in Canada!
Ah my bad! Anyway good luck to you! I hope we both get accepted!!
@pomsky7 same here! what school?
Anyone heard back from any of the Zoology projects? I have no idea what to expect, I don’t know how popular they are. They’re certainly not as popular as the physics/engineering/biochem projects, but I’m afraid, what if they’re cancelled, because other projects had more applicants… On the other hand, they’re really cool projects, and it’s hard to imagine that noone else is interested in them but me
But still, I haven’t heard anything yet, so now I’m really confused
@Gebraroest I’m at Queen’s University! What about you?
@pomsky7 uOttawa! Which programs did you apply to?
@Gebraroest, Biochemistry in Saabrucken, Konstanz, and Biefeld!
Anyone got notifications regarding any of the molecular biology programs? Mine were in Munich, Freiburg, Heidelberg
Also, I was looking at the 2013 DAAD RISE fourm from this website and noticed people started to get acceptances again on the 6th, so hopefully tomorrow? ughh
Hopefully they will send both acceptance and rejection by tomorrow. I can’t bear waiting for another week. This is agony. I need closure lol
Does anyone know what may be meant by “we are in direct contact with your home university” in the waitlist email? Is this my university here in the States or the university in Germany?
Hi! Congrats to all those accepted! I was curious if anyone has applied to any polymer chemistry projects. I applied to projects in Mainz, Kiel, and Hamburg. Also, does anyone know how many projects were offered? Were there more than the 300 scholarships available?
I hope we find out tomorrow! It would be nice if they had a timeline on their website. Anyway, thanks for your help!
I think it would be beneficial for all of us if we start creating some statistics based on our own results
I’ll start…

@abadabadoo They usually only have funding for 300 scholarships, but from the email it sounds like they are trying to find more funding for some extra scholarships. Good luck to everybody!!

I was able to secure external funding today and emailed my PhD student to see if I could work for them if DAAD doesn’t work out - hoping that this won’t be a problem since I’d be self-funded! Best of luck to everyone else
