DAAP early decision application questions

My son would like to apply early decision to DAAP, as it's his 1st choice in colleges. He has about a 3.6W/4.1UW GPA and a 1480/1600 2200/2400 SAT.

DAAP early decision requirements state that with these stats my son needs to be in the top 35% of his class, which I'm sure he is. The problem is that his school doesn't rank. Does anyone know how UC might handle this?

Also, does anyone know the earliest you can apply to DAAP for 2008/2009?

It does depend on his proposed major. Go to: http://www.daap.uc.edu/daap/future_students_undergrad

Click on the individual programs and look at the options.

Generally, for ED, he needs to be at least in the top 20% OR 3.5 unweighted GPA. Thus, your son meets the minimim entry requirements. However, these are minimums for ED. For architecture, they weren't generally taking kids with less than a 3.75 for ED. It does vary a bit.

Thanks for your reply and all your helpful posts on CC. I've been following all your experiences with the college search for your daughter with interest. Your daughter and my son have a lot in common: same county high school system, same college major(digital design), etc. My son's college list was similar to your daughter's, but we might've never discovered UC's DAAP school if it wasn't for your posts.

Sketchy, glad to have been of help. All of Cincinnati's design programs are top notch and if combined with their coop program, makes them a powerhouse in their field. When you consider that their tuition, net of the Cincinnatus Scholarship is one-half that of CMU, they are a REAL hidden gem.
