DAAP Financial Aid

i was recently admitted to cincinnati DAAP Architecture
i have also been admitted to U of Illinois, and i have applied to Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Cornell (my reach). i think i will get into all except cornell maybe
i would just really appreciate it if you guys or any current students who know about scholarships and financial aid could help me out.

i probably won't get any need-based aid because my parents look extremely affluent on paper, but own a company and all of the money is tied up there. i need some help financing this. i am a national merit semifinalist and will probably be named a finalist, which will get me some money automatically, but what are my chances for the other scholarships?

Congrats on getting into DAAP. It is a very good school and hard to get into. Frankly, with the coop opportunities, it might even be the best of the group that you are applying too, even Cornell.

DAAP’s tuition is much lower than the regular tuition of the other schools. Thus, you will be coming out ahead financially. In addition, DAAP has the Cincinnatus Scholarship, which should provide you with at least a $2,000 per year scholarship. Finally, with proper planning , you can become an instate resident beginning with the second or third year. Check on the UC web site for switching to resident status. It is doable with planning.

The University of Cincinnati has UC|21 scholarships for National Merit Finalists - full instate tuition, room and stipend for computer, plus probable additional from Cincinnatus Scholarship. Check their website for details.

Yes, I forgot the UC21 scholarship, which considerably reduces the tuition for Cincinnati. If you combine this with the Cincinnatus, I would bet that the total tuition and fees won’t be more than $8,000 per year , if that.

thank you so much for responding. 8,000 a year would be amazing!
