DD is very interested in Greek Life at UA. Thanks to everyone here at CC, we know that attending the preview weekend, especially as an OOS student, is highly recommended.

Unfortunately, DW must attend a Board of Directors meeting for her company that weekend, so I will need to escort DD to T-town without her. I understand that there is a parents program, my question is, is it OK for a Dad to attend these sessions?

You won’t be in the majority…but you will most certainly be welcome.

And ChicagoBear, Lilly Pulitzer does have neckties . . . .

But this is BEFORE Memorial Day!!!

I saw lots of dads last year. Luckily for you, the meeting is pretty short and you can pbobably find a great sports bar nearby to pass the hours that your D will be touring. It’s also a good time to check out the new Starbucks in the Furg!

TXArchitect is supposed to be planning something for us parents to get together and mingle while the girls are doing their tours. Somewhere we can all just eat, drink and socialize. Not sure what she has up her sleeve yet.

Thanks for info! Glad to hear I probably won’t be the only dad in T-town that weekend.

I am not that familiar with Tuscaloosa, but maybe the Mystic Mushroom? (They have gluten-free options, big tables and adult beverages) and are close to campus with available parking for a Saturday afternoon.

I also think a late dinner Friday night after registration would be a good chance for our girls to meet each other. How about it? Suggestions???

I’m thinking that Saturday night they may want to go out with each other (without us, gasp, Sadzzz). So I anticipate that happening.

^^^ Same boat, not very familiar. Two places we dined at when there this past Fall seemed to have big spaces. One was Wings U on McFarland. Pizza, wings, etc large facility and noticed several large groups. Food was okay. Atmosphere was good. The other was on The Strip and may have been Buffalo Phil’s, not sure but seems to be in the right location on the map.

Ya think they want to go out without us :(

DH attended with DD last year. He did not feel alone or awkward. Had some good one on one time with DD and also got to see a UA baseball game while some of the recruitment events were going on. Enjoy

You will see moms, dads and whole families. I actually love to see the dads at Preview.

If y’all are going to meet Mellow Mushroom is a good place. Upstairs in Mugshots has a good space as well. Last time I visited with a group of CC parents we had drinks at Five. Buffalo Phils will be noisy but will have lots of students, if you can get a table in the back room it won’t be as noisy. Expect to wait for a table on a Friday or Saturday night. I have been to Wings U…it’s by the Hampton Inn and I had a decent dinner. Personally I LOVE Chucks Fish but getting a large table might be hard.

I am so looking forward to the parent “get-together”! ChicagoBear - our daughters need to meet, we are from West Michigan! So, it sounds like a Friday AND a SATURDAY parent party!! I’m in!!!
