Dalai Lama makes Madison second home

Not really but from the MJS
"Dalai Lama to make 7th trip to Madison
His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet and winner of the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize, will make his seventh visit to Madison this summer less than three weeks before the start of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

His visit July 19-24 will include a public talk and four days of teaching, all in the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center. It will conclude with a rare and elaborate "long life prayer offering" to the Dalai Lama, described by organizers as the first of its kind to be performed in the Western Hemisphere. Known as a tenshug in Tibetan, it is an elaborate Tibetan Buddhist ritual that expresses devotion to and appreciation of a spiritual teacher. "

Dang, why does he keep visiting before I start school there?! I'd really like to be able to go see him. Maybe I'll be able to make a trip down there.
