Is D’Amore-McKim School of Business good?
It’s ranked top 25 by Bloomberg for undergraduate business and is well regarded, so generally yes. That’s a pretty broad question you asked though.
@PengsPhils Yeah true. It’s just that on the US News the ranking seemed pretty low. I was getting some anxiety over the last few days about whether northeasterns d’amore mckim school of business was worth 60k a year
Did you not have any cheaper options? You also said elsewhere that you want to transfer to USC - why pick an expensive school with a semester abroad via NU.in and a co-op over a local and much cheaper school for that purpose?
In general, going into a school planning to transfer seems a bit odd as well…
@PengsPhils I had davis as an option as well but it didnt seem that appealing.
Out of my options I guess northeastern just seemed the most appealing one (the coop got to me)
@PengsPhils Honestly, rankings aren’t always a good indicator, and Bloomberg rankings are BS. Bloomberg has Wharton at 16 and Bentley at 10… Haas isn’t even in top 30.
@west123 You should look at what kind of jobs you can get out of Northeastern. It is obviously not at the standard of other schools in the area and it will be difficult to get into any major firms, but you can get a decent job in the middle market. This may hinder IB and consulting opportunities, but I don’t know too much about real estate to give you a more precise answer. The co-op emphasis will definitely help you land a job though.
@Dontskipthemoose While I agree that rankings aren’t everything, I don’t know where you got the info on the rest. Here’s a list of employers that has multiple top consulting firms on it as well as big banks and the like.

In another thread you ask questions that show you know very little about Northeastern yet you make the above statement. Why did you apply as a transfer applicant if you have such a low opinion of the school?
@TomSrOfBoston safety. Also I did do some research on the school. I just wasn’t sure how the co-ops worked with transferring credits and graduating on time. So just because I didn’t know how co-ops would factor into my situation, I know very little about the school? Condescending much??
Also I don’t have a low opinion of the school, but it is a fact that bulge bracket forms or boutiques don’t actively recruit at Northeastern. That wasn’t conceived because of my opinions, it is a fact
This quora thread has responses from several Northeastern students and alumni regarding coop and job placement.

Northeastern has coops positions at Goldman Sachs in both New York and London. Any finance or economics major interested in working for such a firm would go through the coop interview process and hopefully land a coop with them. There is no point in them interviewing soon to graduate seniors because they have already seen potential applicants and hired the best.
One way to think of a coop position is that it is a 6 month long interview. About 50% of Northeastern students receive career position offers from a coop employer.
@TomSrOfBoston @PengsPhils there will obviously be one or two at top firms, but that is also because there are other factors at play besides education.
Am I wrong to suggest that Harvard, MIT, Boston College, and maybe even BU/Babson has better OCR and presence at bulge bracket and elite boutiques?
Northeastern has a great co-op program and job placement, but it isn’t best if the best. It still isa non-target for IB and consulting.
@Dontskipthemoose Not all DMSB students are enamored/obsessedwith IB. Good luck at Emory.
