Dance Recruitment

Hello,
I was just wondering if any universities recruit men for their dance programs, specifically ivy league schools.

I know that men are generally needed in college dance programs but not sure if they are actually recruited.

Consider [Ball State University]((http://cms.bsu.edu/Academics/CollegesandDepartments/TheatreDance.aspx)) for a BFA in Dance! The Ball State Theatre and Dance program is always growing and is truly a family like atmosphere. Our dance program is flourishing and we put on countless productions that give our dance students opportunities to excel in dance.

If you are serious about dance and would like money for college look at Shenandoah University. They are very generous with dance and academic money. Especially with men. Everyone wants men. Well trained men are at a premium. So dont discount colleges other than ivy. Ivies wont give you that much money for dance. Good Luck.

If you visit Shenandoah, take an hour ride down 81 to James Madison. JMU is reasonably priced (even for OOS), and has dance/ academic merit money to offer. :-)

As far as I understand it Ivies do not have any merit money (academic or artistic), all money is need based. However, being a strong male dancer could be a hook for an academically gifted applicant.

If you are looking for LAC with strong dance you may want to look at Goucher, Connecticut College, and Skidmore.
