Dance Team Scholarships

Hi - I'm starting my college search in the New England area and have been looking for colleges that offer scholarships to be part of their dance team. I don't think BC offers any scholarships to those members out on the football field, but maybe I just can't find the information. Do you know of any colleges (in MA, RI, NH or ME) that look to have competitve dancers go to their college? Your help and advise would be great. Thanks!

I'll top this. I've got a dancer, too. It's so "un-CC" to be asking about scholarships for dancers, but what the heck....

I know that there are dance scholarships that are non-school specific. If you want, I can give them to you.

Please post, please!!!

There are others. I have to look for them.

Check out www.dancespirit.com or the magazine itself. They usually have such information.

What I'm interested in is a school that will pay you to be on their dance team....like an athletic scholarship, only for dance. I've seen a few on web sites where members of the dance team get maybe a $500 scholarhip, plus their uniform and shoes are paid for.

I am not an expert at all but my first guess would be that the schools most likely to do this would be schools with big-time football or big-time basketball programs .

Here's another one, but I'm not sure about the specifics of this scholarship so you may to really look through the website to make sure that you're eligible.

At many big Div I schools, they don’t give much to their cheer, pom, or dance teams…maybe $1000 per year plus uniforms. I guess they have enough students who tryout and want to be on these teams that they don’t have to give much as incentive.
