Is my son the only one without a date for this weekend's dance? Cost waaaaay too much to send his girlfriend up for one night. (And we don't even live that far away). Too bad. I hope they have fun anyway.

Not aware of our son having a date, but we don't get a lot of information from him either. He did say he was going. I did make reservations for the All Academies Ball in St. Louis for Dec. 29 for us and his date. About on par (cost) with a weekend in Vegas. Should be fun. Anyone else going?

My son is dateless too unless Mom has been left out in the cold. My guess though is no date...and I have a feeling that a lot are going stag.

Don't think many of them have dates tonight. Was informed that all the Plebes have to go to this because they have to work or something. In any event, hope someone takes photos and shares! The Mid-Atlantic Joint Service Academy Ball is 22 December and we are going to that. Wish it was near to New Year like most other states. Ours is the day after the kids leave for Christmas break.

Anyone going to the New York Ball? Why they made it the day after xmas is beyond me.

They most likely made it so that the students who have winter sports camps can attend, the swim team has to be in Florida by the 29th. This way all the kids can attend.

Nope. No Date. But hoping son will take pictures... especially of any upperclassmen wearing grass skirts and bikin(xxxxxxx, er) top. :D
I'm sure someone else can top that... but it will take some effort.

PA/DE/NJ TriState All Academy is the day after Christmas too. While not an ideal date, the venue and program is top drawer. It's at the Union League which is a regal, historic site in downtown Philadelphia. The itinerary sounds very impressive and includes the cadets & M/Ns being announced into the ballroom with their dates ~ that's after they are led in by bagpipe. Dinner, dancing, photos..... better than the prom. Very fancy.... I must say, the Academies do it right!

Mid-Atlantic Ball is 22 December at the McLean Hilton, Tyson's Corner, VA. Here is a link to on-line registration. Our ball is being hosted by West Point Parents Orgs. https://secure.west-point.org/wppcmddcva/academyball/

We are not going to the Mid-Atlantic Ball because we spend Christmas in NJ and my plebe is not coming home on 12/21 to turn around and return on 12/23 or 12/24. Sorry we-ll miss it. If it was AFTER Christmas, (like everyone else, hint, hint) I would have gone.
