Ask yourself, how truly competitive is your daughter in the dance world? Is she getting coveted, funded summer intensive spots with top ballet companies? Does she stand out at her current program? How much attention is she getting outside of her program? If the answers are in the affirmative and she truly has the desire to pursue going pro, I too would suggest she pursue both simultaneously. She can always defer college acceptances for a year - and sometimes two years.
