Dancing in College?

I am planning to attend either Drexel University in Philadelphia, Stanford University in California, or Cornell University in New York. Dancing (hiphop, breakdancing, and modern dancing) is a big part of my life and I want to continue to do so in college. I also want to major in psychology.Do these colleges have courses in both dancing and in psychology? If so, which one is the best?

Have you actually looked at their web sites to see if they have dance?

As a parent of a D who graduated from Cornell last May and was/is a dancer (studied from age 5), you can dance at Cornell. There are numerous dance groups that you can audition for. Some may not require an audition, I’m not sure. You can also take dance classes.

A fellow dancer of my D’s from home attended Stanford. I know she continued to study dance at Stanford.

I do not know about Drexel, but I would be surprised if they didn’t have something. As Erin’sDad said–look at their web site.

Yes I have. Unfortunately, the websites do not contain enough details nor were they specific enough. That’s why I’m looking for people who actually went to these schools so that they can tell me about it.

That wasn’t what I got from your question.

by the way, I’m a breakdancer. I dance to hiphop, not ballet

I’ve heard that Stanford dance is one of the best in the world. It’s held under the drama department and you can concentrate in dance or get a minor in it. There are lots of courses in it:

Stanford also has a ton of student dance groups, including several hiphop ones, like dv8.

Stanford psychology is also great; it’s general ranked #1 in the country. The department offers 160 courses.
