dang... still number 2 on the waitlist for english r1a...

should I just give up hope on this class or wait until school starts in case people may drop the class during the first week?

well if you arent trying to get into another class then i’d just wait it out. #2 isnt tooo bad…hard for an english class but there’s a small ray of hope :).

Number two is pretty good. Wait it out; people are always bound to drop. There are also tons of other R1A classes out there if you happen not to get into this particular one.

i’m going to bump this topic, I’m still number 2 and I’m new to how this whole waitlist thing works and I have a question.

So let’s say school begins and I’m still on the waitlist. Do I just go to the class and hope no one shows up? And let’s say everyone does show up… do I stand outside everyday listening to the lectures until there is a space available?

Usually, professors try to accomodate the students who want to get in the class. You should go to the first few days of class and see. Sometimes, people don’t show up, and their spots are given to the waitlisted students.

you’re still number 2, you’re not likely to get in. but go to class first day. got nothing to lose. last year i was number 2 on a r1b and gsi only let number 1 on the waitlist in. barely anyone drops out of english classes unless it’s a terrible one. (i remember my friend was telling me about an art one and at first it was filled but then 10 kids dropped by next session heh)

dang, I’m just thinking of not taking english this semester and doing r1a and r1b during my sophomore year.

I’m applying for haas, so what would be a good substitute for a prereq that’s the least difficult… I’m thinking of ugba
