Dark Knight

No, but I did see a video online of Christian Bale killing a man with an axe after dancing to “Hip to be Square.” I can’t believe he wasn’t arrested; it’s amazing what celebrities can get away with these days.

“get away with.” sheesh, I have no idea if he is guilty or innocent or not, but I don’t think people should make such quick judgements about others (even if they are celebrities). It is quite easy to get things blown out of proportion, especially in family matters

I know, I hear he dropped a running chainsaw down a stairwell and killed a girl. I guess when you’re rich, you can do anything.

Huh, I heard the same story, except I heard that he threw the running chainsaw up the stairwell and killed a puppy…

OK… back to the Dark Knight movie…anyone scared of Heath Ledger after that movie? I know I was

Feed Me A Stray Cat

heath is AMAZING in this movie. not too scary though..

christian bale - dont really care about today news.
he’s HOT!

Great directing.
Poor action shots can ruin a movie, but the directing was awesome.
I thought bale had a better performance than in batman begins.
The joker’s character would be a great topic in psych/sociology.
Spoiler alert!
It is interesting that people were so quick to kill reese(with a gun), but couldn’t turn the key on the detenator on the ferries. I also have a theory that those detenators belonged to boat in which the detenator was on(the joker used the philosphy when telling batman where harvey and rachel were…he had motive of who he wanted to live. I think the joker would expect the regular folks to blow up the criminal boat, and therefore each boat had its own detetnator…but we’ll never know).
I feel two face had too small a role and was killed off too soon.
I loved the joker character and the way gothams average citizens kept its morals and didn’t cave in to anacrchy as the joker expected. Anyone bummed that batman will now be loathed by gotham?

SPOILERS IN RESPONSE TO TIFF90

I agree with you 100% that I suspect that the detnonators were for their own boats. I believe the difference between Reese and the boat situation is that “by the numbers” the reese vs. hospital decision is pretty obvious. Kill 1 man to save hundreds is much easier than kill hundreds to save hundreds.

i just watched this movie… did not live up to the hype.

Yea I saw that point.
The boat thing surprised me because one boat had women and children, and more people overall on it.

The willingness to kill reese compared to the inability for anyone to turn the detenator is interesting. The detenator would kill a lot more people, but the regular folks would have saved more people than they killed. Its just an interesting question/experiment. But much of the dark knight raises such questions, and brilliantly interweaves a great story with realistic questions regarding society. The movie def. Has greater meaning than a basic action movie, it really makes you think.

Agreed. This is actually something I didn’t even think about until I read your post, but it’s very likely, and a very interesting point to bring up.

I thought that it lived up to the hype. Great acting, great script, amazing directing.
