***Dartmouth 2012 Waitlist Thread***

Princeton had one of these, soo

Who here is aggressively pursuing the Dartmouth waitlist? More importantly, how does the outlook look statistically for us waitlistees. Yes, I know chances are slim, and yes I know last year 0 people were pulled off the list.

But this year is different with HP and competing fin. aids. It seems that Dartmouth has accepted MORE students then last year. Unlike other schools, they didn't seem to under enroll in an attempt to avoid over enrollment (like last year). What do you guys think?

God speed to us waitlisted and congrats to everyone else!

yea, i got on the waitlist. and chances are really higher this year. Many kids got in multiple top-notch schools, so most of them will reject dartmouth for harvard or mit. i dont know if i will get in, b/c i knew other kids on the waitlist, like kids at Andover High school (know about them?). I hope I get in, though. My only ivy-growing college that didnt reject me.

I'm on the Dartmouth waiting list too... however I'm also on Harvard's waitlist hahaha.

i'm on the waitlist, but i doubt i'll get off it :/

I'm on the waitlist and totally going after it... Dartmouth has been my dream school since the second I stepped on campus. Although I would never do it, I'm really hoping a lot of Dmouth acceptees turn it down for HYPSM, especially considering the HP EA predicament. I have hope, albeit minimal. Best of luck to all of you!

How are you guys attempting to get off the waitlist? I sent the dean an email, and have been trying to arrange a session with a senior admissions officer.

i am also on the waitling list.
can someone pm me the email if of the dean?

I am also on the waitlist. Hopefully everything works out for us all no matter what happens. I got a confirmation of my acceptance by email today telling me to enroll in another university first, so I guess I will take their advice.

definitely staying on the list.

yeah Im definitely staying on the waitlist, but nobody really knows if they will take any off the waitlist at all (they didn't last year, but this year is obviously a different dynamic)

otherwise ill go to either Georgetown or Middlebury, and I'm really happy with both, i just need to decide on one or the other

Good luck to all the prospie prospies!

whom should we be sending our waitlist stuff to? i called admissions to ask about getting a specific person's name and they just said that they don't do anything regionally. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

definitely hanging on. dartmouth’s been a dream for me. i like to think it’s one of the big reasons I came to the united states haha.

i hope for the best for all of us!

to anyone out there who are “settling” for dartmouth after other waitlists or rejections, please don’t. stay on the waitlist if dartmouth means that much to you. it’s an insult to any school to say or even imply that you’re “settling”. dartmouth’s too good in any and all respects for anyone to even consider it a school to settle for. for the world, it’s an honor to attend =]

oh yeah, do you guys imagine Maria Laskaris to be a nice person, or a rather stern one? the former holds more appeal to me

Look at the date: this thread is two years old.

Haha, I truly do wonder how statistics will turn out this year for WL
